I'm a bilingual (English/Spanish) international executive with thirteen years' experience in product, brand, trade, direct and digital/interactive marketing, business development and sales operations in consumer goods (beverage & tobacco), durable goods (HVAC, home furniture and accessories), wholesale distribution, imports and exports, commercial printing and publishing, financial services (mortgage, insurance, investments), and advertising industries with multinational Fortune 500 and small companies in USA, US Hispanic market, and Latin America (Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica.)
I was born and grew up in Miraflores, Lima - Peru, a city of 8 million people, where my father was the largest importer of meat from Argentina, and my mother was General Manager at Audax S.A., a manufacturer of electric converters.
Graduated from Martir Jose Olaya, a private High School in Miraflores. Worked my way through Miami-Dade Community College as an Administrative Assistant at Miami Technical College in Miami and the University of Lima as a Trade Marketing Manager at UCP Backus - SAB Miller Brewing in Lima, Peru. Also taught Economics and Current Affairs at The Academy institute for one year.
Studied Industrial Engineering for two years, then obtained a B.A. in Economics with a major in Management. During my last two years at the university, started working as a Trade Marketing Supervisor and later as Trade Marketing Manager with UCP Backus - SAB Miller Brewing (Fortune 500), the largest industrial company and second largest corporation in Peru by that time.
Left Peru to pursue an MBA at INCAE Business School (www.incae.edu/EN) in Costa Rica (Founded by Harvard Business School and ranked #1 MBA program in Latin America 2003-2006) to get international exposure. Worked for British American Tobacco's - Reynolds American Inc. (Fortune 500) strategic regional unit within six countries in Central America (Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala) as Associate Brand Manager focusing on trade marketing and brand management.
Moved to Cali, Colombia to join Carrier Corporation - United Technologies Corp. (Fortune 500) in 1998 as Brand Manager within four countries in South America (Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador). Moved to Orlando for one year and finally to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where I was Branding Strategist with Nexgenix, a CRM consulting firm, and then Marketing Director for Del Val Publishing, the U.S. subsidiary of one of the largest publishing and commercial printing companies in Latin America and Spain.
In 2006, joined Latin3 in Hollywood, FL, the leading interactive marketing and advertising agency in Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic markets to Fortune 500 companies as Director, Marketing Strategy & Services, where I developed digital marketing strategies for Fortune 500 clients.
As digital marketing strategist I always stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, tactics and interactive technologies such as Media Research and Planning, Widget Marketing, Viral Marketing, Mobile Marketing, Online Advertising Campaign Planning, Management and Optimization, SEM (Paid Search, SEO, Online PR), Online Lead Generation, Email Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, Web 2.0, Social Media, Blogs, Social Networks, Vlogs, Podcasts, RSS.
I have also worked in consulting projects for 1) The American Bible Society, where I developed an innovative marketing program based on “Lectio Divina” to reach the U.S. Hispanic market 2) Citigroup, as licensed senior personal financial analyst (mortgage, insurance, securities) helping people in the US Hispanic market improve and achieve their financial goals 3) The Giant Pot, co-developing the business model to re-launch a not-for-profit organization to feed 200,000 poor children in Peru 4 ) Paititi, providing enterprise-wide strategic marketing direction for a manufacturer and international distributor of high-end home décor products.
